What is Novoform?
Novoform is a welded mesh, permanent formwork system designed and manufactured by Naylor Technical Solutions. Made from steel mesh encapsulated with 2 layers of heat-shrunk polyethylene, it can be used for a range of applications including Ground Beams, Pile Caps and Bases.
Material
Novoform consists of mild steel mesh manufactured to BS1052 bright hard drawn mild steel, using 4mm Cross Wires at 150mm centres and 3mm Line wires at 75mm centres electronically welded at every intersection and complying with BS EN ISO 9001.2000.
The mesh weighs 1.6kgs/m². The mesh then has 100 micron 35% recycled Polyethylene sheets heat-shrunk on both sides. The film weighs 0.2kgs/m² and is non-toxic and therefore does not affect groundwater. The film has been extensively tested independently and can withstand any concrete pressure.
Manufacture
Novoform is manufactured at our factory in Lincolnshire into stock sizes. All edges are flush, finished leaving no harmful protruding wires. These stock sheets are then cut and bent, if required, to your specific needs before being delivered to site.
Available Sizes
Novoform comes in standard lengths of 2400mm, and widths varying from 450mm all the way up to our highest width of 2700mm. For a full breakdown of the sizes available, you can find the full product table in the brochure below.
Installation
Pre-bent Novoform units are individually marked in accordance with accompanying schedules for easy assembly on site. The individual components are simply joined together using tying wire, with no need for specialist training or skilled labourers.
Each unit can be modified on-site, if required, using a pocketknife for the film and bolt cutters for the steel. Novoform is sturdy but is lightweight which means it can be installed manually.
